Business, Management, and Administration

This week we did research in the Business, Management and Administration cluster. My two careers I researched were Court Reporter and Receptionists and Information Clerks. The Court Reporter was my favorite out of the two. They use verbatim methods and equipment to capture, store, retrieve, and transcribe pretrial and trial proceedings or other information. Includes stenocaptioners who operate computerized stenographic captioning equipment to provide captions of live or prerecorded broadcasts for hearing-impaired viewers. In other words they write and research the trials of the court. The second one answers inquiries and provide information to the general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties regarding activities conducted at establishment and location of departments, offices, and employees within the organization. They were similar in a way, I'll agree to that, but their pay was way different. The Court Reporter makes $23.15 an hour and $48,900 while the Receptionist and Informational Clerk makes $12.49 Hourly and $25,990 Annually. The Receptionist and Informational Clerk makes about half the Court Reporters. They both need a High School Diploma. They are both into Conventional and Enterprising. This was the connection I made between the two careers.
